ARTIST'S STATEMENT
Kimetarx's artistic work can be metaphorically described as a 'Glade.' In this fantastical artistic glade encountered while walking through the forest of architecture, architectural elements and artistic inspiration merge into a newly imaged narrative.
He seeks a new artistic practice for architecture as an alternative to space-centered architectural creation. His works are not merely paintings but images that serve as illustrations for a story or schemata of an idea.
To realize these images, Kimetarx embodies the theoretical, narrative, and pictorial elements of visionary architecture, narrative architecture, and paper architecture in his artistic practice through speculation.
Won Ch. Kimetarx is a Canadian artist and writer of Korean origin. He earned a Master's degree in Architecture from École Nationale supérieure d’Architecture de Strasbourg, and a Master's degree in History from Université Marc-Bloch in France. He is also a licensed architect in France and Canada.
